Pope John Paul II said at the millenium that all Catholics need begin a "New Evangelization" to others through all methods available.

Well this is our method.  The Catholic Business League and myself are reaching out through this new media to promote Catholic ideals and values to the business world.  This BLOG, The Catholic Professional, aims to accomplish three things:

  1. To become a sounding board for Catholics in the Business world to share their knowledge and expeience on ethics and personal responsibilities of our professions.
  2. Become a repository of information and discussions regarding Catholic Business practices and ideals from the internet and other published media.
  3. To teach and evangelize to the business world through the new media and further the cause of Christ and his Church.  Realizing we are all imperfect, we can hold each other to a higher standard by the example we live in our everyday lives.

I encourage anyone to contribute all that they have: links, documents, power points, any other media that would pertain ethical business practices, particularly from a Catholic point of view, but not exclusively.  in the begining there will be posts as I find things in my searching, more often if we receive help and feedback.

There are plans for a podcast in the future that would include profiles and interviews with Catholic Business Leaders in the Community; examples of those living their faith in this increasingly secular world.  Any help or suggestions for topics will be greatly appreciated.

I will finish things off with a big thank you to he many leaders and mentors out there, already spreading the word in all kinds of ways.  The first one I think of is Greg Willits.  Willits is the co-founder of RosaryArmy.com with his wife Jenifer.  It is a website and blog devoted to making, praying and giving away rosaries.  He is also President & COO of SQPN.com, which has become a central web site for much of the Catholic new media that is being produced.  SQPN says its mission is “to respond to the Church’s call to use the new media for religious information, for evangelization and catechesis, and for formation and education”.   Greg has found the ability to live out his mission through his business.  May his vocation be an example to us all and a blessing to God's Church.  Please check out their great work!
