CBL Jobs Ministry is having our inaugural committee meeting on Friday morning, at the Panera on Old Hickory & I-65, 10am.  This is a place that I frequently meet people for coffee (& free internet).  You also see many individual professionals.  Either working alone or waiting to meet that interviewer that's still talking to someone else in the corner.  Such a growing number of people.  We must find a way to help.

Please comment with any ideas.  I have gathered the following so far:

  • Email address jobs@catholicbusinessleague.org  for people to send in their listings and profiles
  • Produce an email newsletter that will go out directly to all members and others who sign up for the email
  • Hold a meeting, or series of meetings, to address career issues: counseling, recruiters, etc.

A few resources I have gathered:

Again, please send in your ideas, I will communicate out to all and well get this train movin!

Please keep our committee and all those in need of its help in your prayers.

In Christ

TCP

My sacrifice, O God, is a contrite spirit;
a heart contrite and humbled, O God, you will not spurn.
Psalm 51:19

Re: How can we help our fellow CP's in our midst who are unemploed and under-employed?

Sorry I was unable to attend. A couple of ideas...

There are several parish career transition activities. CBL could at a minimum make everyone on distribution aware and possibly coordinate these activities to increase effectiveness and reduce redundancy.

I Was in St. Louis on Friday and the business owner I was visiting with mentioned how he helps the St. Louis CBL with career transition. The point is there may be other dioceses that have more mature career transition activities that we can learn from. I'm not sure how to find these but I will contact my guy in St. Louis, there may be opportunities through the Bishop's office, or some google searches.

Create a CBL LinkedIn group. There is one (google search) but I can't tell if it is ours or not. Do keep in mind that someone has to agree to be the administrator, even if they land a job.
