All of us know someone in our circle of friends, a member of the family or someone in the neighborhood who has lost their job in the past year.  A really good job with a mortgage company or a bank.  These people got surprised by the downturn and are still looking for that leg up.

I saw a resume in my email today of a guy who moved here less than a year ago for a job and was laid off this Fall (I'll link his resume here if he lets me).  Let us pray that he and all the others in need of employment find success.  As we interact with those who are in need, it is good to review what the Church says on employment from the Catechism.  The Knights of Columbus have a website to keep on your toolbar for easy reference in your studies!

Also remember the social networking sites like 4marks.com and employment sites like CatholicJobs.com
If anyone knows of other helpful sources, send them my way through a comment and I will post heartily.

Please help these poeple.  Give them your card and get their resume in your email box.  You never know when that person they need to meet comes across your inbox or caller ID.  You could be the little hand of God they need to make it through.

In Christ

R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
He guides me in right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk in the dark valley
I fear no evil; for you are at my side
With your rod and your staff
that give me courage.
Psalm 23

Re: Always be prepared for that unexpected job hunt.

During these uncertain and unprecendented times for most of us, it is especially important that we help all in need. I'm a big believer in "paying it forward" and helping others as this is God's wish. You never know when you may be in that situation and I commend CBL for being a forum to blend faith and work.
